Word of the Day

I’m most awfully busy at the moment, what with one thing and another. So, no time for a proper blog post today. Instead I leave you with today’s Word of the Day. Whiffle. Go on, use it in a sentence today. I dare ya.

(Oh, and for the people trying to guess the secret? I AM NOT PREGNANT!!!!)

  1. Love Lord Peter Wimsey, yes Wiffle is the kind of word he’d use.

Well I know it’s not a kitten farm, and it’s not pole dancing, the girls on Ravelry have been submitting their own suggestions.

  2. Yikes! It never even entered my mind that you might be pregnant. Somehow, I assumed it must be a business secret….Have a wonderful holiday!

  3. Whiffle, piffle, trifle (ok it doesn’t rhyme but it’s a damn fine word!)

Your last comment reminds me of when I blogged about knitting something pink. It was a Clanger, but boy did it bring out the baby-mongers!

  4. My neighbor’s child (denoted the country from the spelling here) constantly knocks his whiffle balls over our fence. (Which my Portie, Lola, promptly grinds up.) But if I try to make one up, sort of like what it might sound like it is, here goes: “I got the faintest wiffle of lavender when I passed by the clean shirts hanging on the line…”
