This week’s preview is live!! And I do realise that a heatwave isn’t the best time to make this announcement, but hey, us knitters are good planners ahead, right?!
For a long time I’ve been looking for a particular yarn base to round out our range. We’re Posh, the majority of our bases are luxury fibres. But I absolutely love to knit sweaters, particularly cabled sweaters, and I felt we needed a sturdier base, more of a workhorse type yarn, for sweaters that will last and last and last. I am also aware that most of us are watching our finances a little more closely than we used to, and a lower priced base would be a good addition, especially when you’re thinking of sweater quantities.
And now we have one! Morag is a pure Peruvian Highland wool base, not superwash (that sucker will FELT). It feels crisp and sturdy, but not scratchy, and I think it will have great longevity in finished projects. I’ve only ordered a tiny bit, just to see what you think of it, but I feel confident that you will love it as much as I do, and that we can extend the range and make it one of our regulars. The base comes in sock weight, sport weight, DK, and Aran, but for the time being I have only ordered the sock weight and DK. In limited amounts (which it’s killing me not to steal from!). So, here are the specific details:
A sock weight yarn, made from pure Peruvian Highland wool. 460 yards (420m) per 100g. Recommended needle size is 2.75mm (US 2). £12.00 (including VAT), £10.00 (excluding VAT) per 100g skein.
A DK weight yarn, made from pure Peruvian Highland wool. 250 yards (225m) per 100g. Recommended needle size is 4mm (US 6). £12.00 (including VAT), £10.00 (excluding VAT) per 100g skein.
