Isn’t It Ironic……

I was extremely interested by Eunny’s latest post, about how many people have commented that now she is the Editor of Interweave Knits, she will find she has no time left for knitting. It’s oh so true. Although Eunny is some kind of a knitting superhero, so maybe she’ll find a way round it.

But it’s an irony of my life that I’m surrounded by beautiful yarn that I haven’t the time to knit. I currently have on the needles, and jostling for room in my knitting basket, 2 socks (for 2 different pairs), 2 shawls, and 2 hoodies. (Uh, why are my projects in pairs? Is there some deep significance to this?) Last night I managed to complete the ribbing on the sleeve of one of the hoodies, and turn the heel on one of the socks, and that accomplishment has exhausted me for the week.

Mind you, I do live vicariously through the blogs. Some people are extremely industrious knitters, turning out practically a pair of socks a week. I am in awe. I am also envious. I’m such a slow knitter that I couldn’t turn out a pair of socks (hell, even one sock!) in a week even if that was all I had to do.

On a slightly different note: I can hardly believe it, but Posh Yarn is coming up for its one year anniversary. The last year has just flown by, and my baby’s all grown up. We’re marking the anniversary in two exciting ways. Firstly, if you aren’t on our mailing list, sign up. On April 16th (the day we launched, last year) we will be picking a random name from the list, and that person will receive a £50 gift voucher to spend on Posh Yarn.

Secondly, we have a new team member. From April, Posh Yarn will have a Wholesale Manager, who will handle exclusively our wholesale customers. I’m so excited about this, I can’t even tell you. I’ve been turning down wholesale customers for months, because we didn’t have the time or the premises to handle too many wholesale orders. Now we can start to expand that side of the business, without the risk of neglecting our lovely retail customers. Can you see me doing a happy dance?

Finally, a quick reminder that there will be no update on Sunday, since we are doing a Wednesday update next week. I’m going to have a blissfully chilled out weekend (at least, that’s the plan), and I hope you do too. May the sun shine on you, may your needles click busily, may you have fun, fun, fun. Mwah.
