This week’s preview is now up!

And we’re launching another new base, Clara Aran.

This is an aran yarn, made from British Bluefaced Leicester ecru wool marbled with natural brown Masham wool in a 3ply yarn. 175 yards (160m) per 100g. Recommended needle size is 4.5mm (US 7). £13.20 (including VAT), £11.00 (excluding VAT) per 100g skein.

If you’ve already got some Clara DK in your stash, you’ll know what this one will feel like. Otherwise, it’s very soft, but still a little crisp, very sheepy, and quite possibly my most favourite base of all time, because it manages to marry softness with rusticity with robustness.

Sock Week preview is live! And we have a new British spun base to debut this week.

Ingrid Sock

A sock weight yarn, made from 70% alpaca, 30% British merino. 440 yards (400m) per 100g. Recommended needle size is 2.75mm (US 2). £14.40 (including VAT), £12.00 (excluding VAT) per 100g skein.

The construction, as you’ll see in the photos, is a fine chain yarn, which will give good stitch definition. It’s not baby alpaca, so it’s not as soft as Miranda, say, but I think it will soften beautifully as it is knitted, and have good drape.

This week also sees the last of our stock of Tabitha for a while. Enjoy the preview!

We’ve got a gorgeous new base for you this week.

Celia Lace

A 3ply lace weight yarn, made from 50% silk, 50% British merino. 875 yards (800m) per 100g. £14.40 (including VAT), £12.00 (excluding VAT) per 100g skein. (Although the blend of fibres is the same as Sylvia Lace, the handle is quite different. Celia feels much crisper, and because it is a 3ply, not a 2ply, you’ll get better stitch definition.)

Full preview coming up tomorrow!
