Thoughts

Something went wrong with the world when people stopped making things for themselves. Relying on commerce for everything is no way to live. Learning crafts and skills is integral for human happiness. Watching television is not a hobby, it vegetates the mind, instead of refreshing it. Feeling productive, skilled, useful is not really optional – not having some outlet for this basic human need results in frustration and discontent. The happiest people are busy people, but busy in the right areas of life, creative and constructive.

Nurture your creative side, and protect it fiercely. Cook, sew, paint, knit, embroider, spin, weave, garden, sculpt, crochet. Keep learning new skills and trying new things. Be excited, be open. Encourage others to do the same.

This is where happiness and contentment and peace of mind lie. In our very hands.

Still Blank

Thank you all for your lovely blog inspiration suggestions, I read them all with interest…….. and still can’t think of a thing to say. I suppose this is only natural when you have been blogging for nearly 6 years. I feel like I’ve said everything there is to say about everything: from the frivolous (fashion) to the serious (depression). The well is dry. I’m in a period of quietness, which is rather nice and restful, to be honest. Perhaps in due course, words will come. Until they do, we’ll enjoy a friendly silence together.

Shop Update 14.08.11 & Possible Update Time Change

First things first: I’m thinking of changing the shop update time back to 7pm, rather than 8pm, but I need to know whether that will work for the majority of you, so please cast your vote, at http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/posh-knitters/1780507/.

Now on to this week’s shop preview! We have a big juicy update for you this week, with larger amounts in many of the colourways. As Autumn sneaks up on us, I’m sure I’m not alone in thoughts turning to sweaters & cardigans. We will be having a sweater pack update in September, but in the meantime, there are some colourways this week that have enough skeins for larger projects.

So, here is the shop preview, hope you like it!
