As I hope you know, here at Posh Yarn, we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible, since we want as many knitters as possible to be able to afford our yarn. But every year we have to do a review of our costs v. profits, and consider whether we need to make price adjustments. Recently we had an email from our main supplier, explaining that wool prices have dramatically increased since September 2009, to the point where the price of wool is now over 50% higher than it was in September. As a consequence, the majority of our current yarn range has increased in price, and we’ve had to consider whether to increase all of our prices. Also, on 6th April 2010, Royal Mail are raising all their postal prices.
So, this is what we’ve decided to do: we are going to absorb the yarn price increases into our costs, so our yarn prices will not increase at the present time. But we are putting up our post and packaging cost, by 25p. So from the 4th April 2010 update, the flat p&p costs, regardless of what you purchase, will be:
£2.50 for UK customers
£3.50 for international customers
